Sustainability
NCGP 2026 CARES ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY!
As the organizers of the NCGP 2026 conference, we are working purposefully to reduce the environmental and climate impact of the event. However, a conference of this size always has an impact on the environment due to the number of people attending, e.g. the increased travel, food and waste, etc. In planning the conference, our goal is to minimize the impact on the environment.
Sustainable measures
The congress works to have limited impact on the environment through careful consumption of energy and resources. This includes electronically distributed meeting materials and online file sharing. We do not produce unnecessary conference materials and products and if so, choose environmentally and socially friendly products. We make active choices to provide healthy and climate-smart food at the conference. Although a fully sustainable meeting requires more preparation, it is worth the effort, as all measures can contribute to a positive impact on the environment and generate sustainable solutions for reducing climate impact.
These guidelines are provided to participants, contributors, exhibitors and entrepreneurs at the conference and aim to educate and inspire continued reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. These guidelines are continuously evaluated, as technology and mitigation options continue to change.
Conference facility
Elmia Conference, Congress & Event
A sustainable meeting place – from environmental, social and economic aspects. To move there, we work based on a sustainability strategy that is based on four focus areas: Sustainable meetings, Sustainable choices, Circular resources and Relationships & health.
Jönköping
Environmental, economic and social sustainability must be constantly present at the core of all our operations.
The sustainability policy is a steering document that shows the company’s direction on sustainability issues. The policy provides everyone at DJAB with guidance on how the company views and should work with sustainability and facilitates the work of communicating sustainability externally. Appropriate parts of the policy are integrated into marketing materials, agreements, requirements specifications and communication to customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
SUSTAINABILITY VISION
In connection with the congress, we want to show that the local organization takes responsibility for preserving the environment and strives to implement environmental management based on a good balance between environmental protection and business development.
We will proactively disseminate information and suggestions to visitors and stakeholders at the conference to contribute to a sustainable society.
We hope and believe that the NCGP 2026 congress will inspire others to focus on sustainability and reduced environmental impact.
Some of the things we do:
Strive for an equal distribution of speakers.
Choose conference facilities and other suppliers that have active sustainability work, good accessibility and are centrally located and easily accessible to local transport.
Recommend hotels that have active environmental work and are either environmentally certified, environmentally certified or Nordic Ecolabelled.
During the conference we will offer at least one vegetarian menu and with regard to the climate no red meat will be served in connection with the conference.
Swedish tap water is of high quality and will be available throughout the facility. We avoid bottled water.
The conference facility provides waste sorting bins in the conference area and sorts and recycles waste.
Conference information is provided online and via the conference app. Printed materials are kept to a minimum and all printed paper provided by the conference is on environmentally certified paper.
The conference nameplate is made of paper (FSC certified) instead of plastic. The name tag lanyard is made from recycled material and is socially sustainable.
What you as a visitor can do:
Travel by train to Jönköping. Long-distance buses also arrive directly at Central Station. Avoid flying.
You can easily get to Elmia by commuter train or bus.
Follow the instructions on waste separation at the conference facility and at your accommodation.
Swedish tap water is of high quality. Choose this instead of bottled water. Bring your own bottles and fill them with tap water.
